A bakery owned by a man of Egyptian descent was broken into, its baked goods were destroyed with acid and anti-Arab graffiti was spray-painted on the walls, Huntington Beach police said Tuesday.

One or more vandals pried open the rear door of the Seagate Bakery, 16107 Bolsa Chica St., after it closed at 7:15 p.m. Monday and threw hydrochloric acid on the baked goods and machinery, Police Sgt. Barry Case said.

The messages “We don’t like Arabs” and “Arab, go home” were sprayed in black and red paint on the walls, Case said.
