A time capsule containing local material from 1936 but not buried until 1952 will be dug up at 9 a.m. Wednesday in Library Park at Myrtle and Lime avenues.

A new time capsule, celebrating the end of Monrovia’s yearlong centennial celebration, will be buried at the site on May 16 at 4:30 p.m.

It is not known why the memorabilia from the 50th anniversary of the founding of the city was stored for so long before it was buried.
