The Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., which oversees the federal bank insurance system, said the deposits of the failed First City Bank of Atoka in Atoka, Okla., were transferred to the healthy Atoka State Bank after First City was closed by state regulators. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, which regulates national banks, said it closed Security National Bank, Midland, Tex. The OCC said it also closed Federated National Bank of Live Oak, Tex., adding that in this case it will pay off 1,400 insured depositors because no other bank expressed an interest in buying the bank.
