House Action on Pay Raise
I guess there is only one place in the world where “no” means “yes” and that is the House of Representatives, and then only when it comes to pay.
It is also the only place where if you tell your boss you don’t want a raise in pay, you are sure to get it. What monkey business!
House Speaker Jim Wright (D-Tex.) ought to be ashamed, and also all those who joined with him in this two-faced arrangement.
If Congress and especially its highest officials won’t bite the bullet, how can they expect anyone else to do so?
Our ethics have really hit bottom.
