Security for Thatcher Son’s Wedding Tight

LONDON —
Security preparations began today at the 16th-Century Savoy Chapel for the Valentine’s Day marriage of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher’s son Mark to a Texas car dealer’s daughter, Diane Burgdorf.
Scotland Yard police checked streets, sewers and buildings in the area for possible explosives and ordered offices around the chapel cleared by evening, standard procedure when the prime minister is involved.
