Popular downtown Los Angeles hangout Al’s Bar was shut down and its owner arrested Saturday night when Los Angeles police and fire marshals raided the nightspot during a show by the rock band Love Tractor that, according to a police officer at the scene, attracted a crowd of about 260 persons--more than double the bar’s legal capacity. Club owner Mark Kreisel was arrested and taken away in handcuffs when, according to police, he failed to produce proper identification. It was unknown Sunday when the club will reopen.
