A Japanese documentary about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in the Soviet Union won the top award at the 27th Monte Carlo International Television Festival on Saturday night. “Chernobyl, Bitter Herb,” from the NHK broadcasting company, won the Golden Nymph award for a nonfiction program as well as the Prince Rainier of Monaco Prize and the International Television Magazine Critics Prize.
