Fewer than half the adults arrested for robbery in the United States, Canada and England are likely to spend time in jail, a Justice Department survey said. An estimated 49% of those arrested for robbery in the United States would serve a jail or prison sentence, 52% in Canada and 48% in England, including Wales, it said.
