Guerrilla Chief Slain, Colombia Police Report

BOGOTA, Colombia —
Leftist guerrilla leader Jairo de Jesus Calvo and another rebel were killed by police in a high-speed chase after the pair ran a roadblock in this capital city, police said Monday.
Officers reported that in another incident, guerrillas attacked a police station in a village 65 miles southeast of Bogota and then ambushed a convoy of police reinforcements, killing four police officers. Both encounters took place Sunday.
