Savings and Loan Robbed: A savings and loan association office was robbed Tuesday of an undetermined amount of cash, police said. The bandit entered Security Federal Savings, 12221 Brookhurst St., at 11:13 a.m. and gave a teller a note demanding money, Police Lt. Ken Whitman said, adding that the robber never displayed a weapon. After receiving the cash, the man fled and was last seen running south on Brookhurst Street toward an abandoned railroad right-of-way. The bandit was described as white, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, 50 to 55 years old, with graying brown hair and wearing a tan jacket and sunglasses.
