Ex-AP Official May Take Buchanan’s Job

WASHINGTON — John Koehler, a former Associated Press news executive, said today he is considering an offer to be White House director of communications, succeeding Patrick Buchanan, who has resigned effective March 1.
Koehler, 56, has been a consultant in international public affairs since he retired from the AP in 1985. The U.S. Information Agency has been one of his clients.
