Downey : Courthouse Bids Opened
Macco Constructors Inc. of Paramount has submitted the apparent low bid of $17,929,000 for construction of a four-story courthouse on the county’s Rancho Los Amigos property. The county Facilities Management Department will recommend to county supervisors that a contract be awarded after evaluating all 10 bids.
The courthouse will be built on 7.8 acres of vacant land next to the county library on Imperial Highway. It will replace the crowded Downey Municipal Courts building on 3rd Street. The contract will call for completion in 21 months.
