San Francisco police said one of two men stabbed to death in a violent quarrel was also involved in some of the 16 unsolved homosexual murders in that city since 1980. Homicide Inspector Ed Erdelatz said officers, acting on a 911 call, broke down a bolted door and found the bodies of the two men. Both were nude and both had been stabbed to death. One, who lived in the apartment, was identified as telecommunications engineer Ronaldo R. Ellis, 41. The other was identified by police only as “the suspect.” Erdelatz said he is believed to have “set up” Ellis, gone home with him and stabbed him with a kitchen knife. The method of operation appeared to match that of the other killings, Erdelatz said, but added, “It is really too soon to be sure.”
