Gasoline prices across the nation appear poised for a drop after virtually no change was recorded over a two-week period, with the average price for a gallon at just under 93 cents, the Lundberg Survey reported Sunday.

“The average price for all grades of gasoline, including taxes, is at 92.95 cents a gallon for Feb. 20, a mere 15-hundredths of a cent higher than Feb. 6,” said Trilby Lundberg, publisher of the Lundberg Letter, an oil industry journal.

She said a price decrease may occur because wholesale prices for dealers fell seven-tenths of a cent during the past two weeks. If they can afford it, some dealers may pass on the decrease to customers, Ms. Lundberg said.

Self-service prices, which account for 78 percent of all sales nationally, were 85.52 cents a gallon for regular unleaded; 80.92 for regular leaded; and 99.01 for premium unleaded.

Prices per gallon at full-service pumps were nearly $1.13 for regular unleaded; about $1.08 for regular leaded, and nearly $1.23 for premium unleaded.
