Charles J. Deischter, 51, has assumed the position of chief executive of Swedlow Inc. in addition to his role as president of the Garden Grove-based plastics company. He succeeds David A. Swedlow in the post. Swedlow, 75, remains chairman.
The company also announced that William F. Fischer, 44, senior vice president-technology, and Ronald C. Moyer, 48, senior vice president-marketing, have been elected to Swedlow’s board, increasing its total members to nine.
Deischter joined Swedlow in March, 1980, as director of manufacturing and was elected president and chief operating officer in January, 1983. He was formerly in charge of manufacturing for the Burgmaster Co., a division of Houdaille Industries, and was also with the industrial systems division of Hughes Aircraft.
His selection as chief executive was part of a planned management transition, Swedlow said.
