Lynwood : School Staffs Get Reprieve

Share

The Lynwood school board has sent no notices of possible firings or reassignments to district administrators.

However, the board did notify one school principal, James Logan of Roosevelt Elementary, and eight other employees who run federally or state-funded projects that their jobs could be terminated at the end of the school year. The board had said the possible firings and reassignments were necessary because of likely cuts in next year’s budget.

By law, administrators and employees who may not be rehired have to be informed by March 1. The board’s next scheduled meeting is March 10.

Last week, more than 300 angry Lynwood High School students held a protest outside the school over rumors that Principal Larry Tripplett was going to be fired.
