Adolfo Calero, who resigned under U.S. pressure as one of three directors of the United Nicaraguan Opposition, announced that he will seek election to a similar post in the U.S.-backed rebel alliance. Contra leaders have agreed to expand UNO’s board to seven members and reorganize its 26-member council. Calero, in a radio broadcast monitored in Managua, said he will be a candidate in elections to be held by Nicaraguan exile groups in the next three months.
