Fluor to Build Power Plant for Union Carbide

Fluor Corp., the Irvine-based engineering, construction and natural resources management firm, said its Fluor Daniel power sector in Greenville, S.C., has been selected by Union Carbide Corp. to construct a power facility for the company’s Seadrift, Tex., petrochemical plant.
The contract, the value of which was undisclosed, calls for the construction of a 108-megawatt facility which will be used to generate all of the plant’s electrical energy.
