Source of a Teapot Cozy May Be Brewing

Jo Anne McNamara of Canoga Park has looked all over for a teapot cozy , but so far without success. Can you help with a hot lead, or is McNamara raising a tempest in a teapot that will fit nobody to a T until she leaves it alone?

Edith Zaslow of Solana Beach has really been stepping on it in an effort to locate some white Wigwam jogging socks for women in the San Diego area, but no luck. Can you help her accomplish this feat by being on your toes with a source, or will Zaslow wonder whether someone is perhaps giving her the runaround?

For her boat, Joyce Federgreen of Palm Desert would like a fairly inexpensive Oriental rug that is no more than 18 inches wide and no more than 42 inches long; she would be happy if the rug contained some navy or royal blue. Can you see to it that Federgreen treads softly, or will she feel like chewing the rug because there’s no one she can call on the carpet?

Dorothy Hogan of Los Angeles is itching to get her hands on Something Smooth hipster panties , made of 94% nylon and 6% Dupont Lycra spandex; the stores she knows no longer seem to carry that brand. Can you help Hogan out of a tight spot, or will she have to give up about being a hippie?

Did we ever lay an egg last week. After we disappointed Eugenia Lynch of Ventura and Mirriam Cutts of Seal Beach (who were both looking for boiled-egg openers) by stating that these were no longer available, we found out that Williams-Sonoma stores carry two types of Egg Toppers; one costs $7.50, the other $15.

For Rosanna Schmidgall, who wanted someone to re-foil a rhinestone pin, we have a ray of hope. Ethel Sirote of Los Angeles, who says she has been setting stones in jewelry for 60 years, says what Schmidgall wants is a replate. One plater we heard about is Regency Jewelry, 8129 West 3rd St., (213) 655-2573, but they will have to see the piece before they will make a commitment.

We may have another source for Freeze Sleeves for Sam Fuentes. Betty Carlyle of Calimesa bought some at Stater Bros. two years ago that were made by Freeze Sleeve Inc., P.O. Box 191448, Dallas, Tex. 75219-1448.
