The Miami-based firm refused to reveal terms of the acquisition of Caledonian Airmotive Ltd., Europe’s largest independent aircraft engine repair shop and Ryder’s largest international purchase to date. The Prestwick, Scotland, firm was a subsidiary of British Caledonian Group, and had fiscal year 1986 revenue of more than $50 million. Caledonian will become part of Ryder System’s Aircraft Services Division, but will continue to operate under its own name.
