Coby Ruskin, 75; Pioneer Television Director

Coby Ruskin, who began directing television when it was in its infancy, beginning with “The Arthur Murray Party” in the 1950s and later the “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and “The Andy Griffith Show,” has died. He was 75.
Ruskin died Tuesday of complications following surgery, said Chuck Warn, a spokesman for the Directors Guild of America.
Ruskin also directed segments of such series as “Julia,” starring Diahann Carroll, “Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C.,” with Jim Nabors, and “Here’s Lucy,” with Lucille Ball.
