The first day of trial for a revolutionary group charged with bombings and bank robberies was disrupted today when lawyer William Kunstler, calling the proceedings an “outrage,” was forcibly removed from the courtroom.

Eight members of a group known as the United Freedom Front and the Sam Melville-Jonathan Jackson Unit are charged with sedition in a 10-year conspiracy to overthrow the government through violent acts. Kunstler was ejected by U.S. District Judge John McNaught after loudly protesting the judge’s decision to bar him from representing one of the defendants.
