“With All Hands” (France, 1986, 12:30 p.m.). Yet another Gallic translation from American pulp literature that misses the mark by a wide margin. Author James Gunn’s mystery (more fortuitously filmed in 1947 by Robert Wise as “Born to Kill”) centers on a homicidal gigolo who marries a rich heiress and then begins to eye her attractive half sister. The latter, played sensuously by Dominique Sanda, uncovers his dark past, precipitating a bloody climax. Director Benoit Jacquot takes the term film noir to ridiculous extremes and elicits unintentional humor from endless images of broken glass. There’s enough bad luck generated for all involved without them.
