UCI Rallies to Defeat Maryland in Men’s Tennis

The UC Irvine men’s tennis team, down 4-1, swept the last four matches to defeat Maryland, 5-4, Sunday at the Racquet Club of Irvine.

With the match tied, 4-4, the Anteater doubles team of Mike Cadigan and Steve Oliver defeated Carlos Clavier and Jim Dearman, 6-7, 6-3, 6-1, to clinch the victory for UCI (12-8).

Singles winners for Irvine were No. 3 Cadigan, who defeated Alex Chicone, 7-6, 6-3, and No. 6 Richard Lubner, who defeated Kenny Roshkofs, 6-3, 6-3.
