The World : AIDS Alters Swedes’ Morals

Sweden, once in the vanguard of the sexual revolution, launched a $6.5-million campaign to fight AIDS by ending sexual permissiveness. The information campaign against acquired immune deficiency syndrome is aimed “directly and explicitly at changing people’s behavior,” said Minister of Social Affairs Gertrud Sigurdsen. The campaign, which will send leaflets to every home in Sweden, contrasts sharply with one in neighboring Denmark, which uses risque cartoon posters proclaiming “sex is fun” and urging the use of condoms in order to let the Danes continue to “have a good time.”
