Share

Violence flared among several people who were playing the game Monopoly for money, leaving a young man dead of gunshot wounds and an elderly man under arrest on suspicion of murder. Police said the 26-year-old victim, who was not immediately identified, was shot to death after he tried to borrow money from another player who had been involved in the game at a house in the 1800 block of Echo Park Avenue. Richard Bouge, 70, who lived in a rear house where the argument occurred, interfered in the dispute, grabbed a rifle and fired several times, hitting the victim in the chest. Bouge was booked on suspicion of murder and held without bail.
