Share

William Camil, who has been city attorney of Duarte for 26 years, has resigned effective June 30. Camil, 59, said the move is part of a planned gradual retirement. He resigned last July as city attorney of Santa Fe Springs but will stay on the job in Commerce. Camil, who served each city for more than 25 years, said he began specializing in municipal government after serving as mayor of Santa Fe Springs in 1958-59. He said he has attended more than 2,000 city council meetings during his career.
