Biflyx, a Santa Ana maker of high-technology products, reported profits of $40,000 for the first half of fiscal 1987, with $16,000 earned in the first quarter ended Sept. 30 and $24,000 in the second quarter ended Dec. 31.

Revenues came to $159,000 in the first quarter and $235,000 in the second, for a six-month total of $394,000, nearly four times the $99,000 in revenues that came in the previous year.

The company lost $691,000 for its fiscal year ended June 30, 1986, contrasted with a $334,000 loss in fiscal 1985. Sales for the year totaled $244,000, up 68% from $145,000.

The company blamed the 1986 loss on its efforts to develop and market its Biflyx Color Video Printer, adding that sales of the systems during the first half of the current fiscal year improved its showing.
