A private detective will investigate claims that boosters lured recruits to SMU by providing athletes with sexual partners and academic stand-ins, university officials said.
The investigator was hired after anonymous telephone calls alleging a prostitution and grade-fixing scheme, SMU interim President William Stallcup said.
