The Bank of China plans to merge its Great Wall credit card operations with Mastercard International, the official Xinhua News Agency said. Mastercard officials in the United States were unable immediately to give details of how the Great Wall card program would work, such as whether the card could be used at Mastercard merchants worldwide. No international credit cards currently are issued in China. The Great Wall credit card was introduced last June by the bank’s Beijing branch for foreign residents.
