Oxnard Condo Development to Get Start

Shamrock/Voss, a joint venture of Shamrock Holdings Inc. of Burbank, and Voss Construction Co. Inc. of Oxnard, will break ground Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. for its 129-unit Harbour Island/Mandalay Bay condominium project in Oxnard.

It is located at the end of Hemlock Street where it joins the Edison Channel. A reception will follow at the Port Royal Restaurant in Oxnard.

The 23.5-acre, $45-million development in Channel Islands Harbor will include creation of more than eight acres of new waterway, a park and 100 boat slips. Units, ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 square feet, will be priced from $300,000 to $550,000.

The project is the first condominium construction for Shamrock Holdings, the Roy E. Disney family company which has extensive business interests, including four television stations, 12 radio stations, an international agribusiness firm, energy services company and a controlling interest in a software systems company.

Voss has built more than 1,000 homes in Venture County. Corbin/Yamafuji & Partners Inc. of Irvine is the architect.
