The U.S. told India it can buy a supercomputer.
Defense Department officials said the United States did not specify which supercomputer it will allow to be sold but had offered India a choice. The sale had been held up until India cleared up U.S. concerns over a possible security breach. U.S. and Indian officials signed an agreement in New Delhi in December that included security precautions for the computer, which has a wide variety of military applications.
