Cigarette Production Drops

WASHINGTON —
Cigarette production last year dropped about 3% to 643 billion cigarettes, an Agriculture Department report said Wednesday.
“Domestic use fell, but exports rose,” the department’s Economic Research Service said. “U.S. smokers consumed 584 billion cigarettes in 1986.
