Glendora : Centennial Flags Offered
Residents who want a memento of the city’s centennial celebration can sponsor banners that will fly from the light stands along Glendora Avenue through May 5. About 50 banners are being sold at $150 each.
The banners, which sponsors can take home when the centennial festivities conclude, are 45 inches wide and 60 inches long. The blue, orange and gold flags contain the city’s centennial logo and a picture of Mt. Baldy behind orange groves. Sponsors may have the name of their family or business printed on the flags, said Linda Kelly, a coordinator.
Proceeds from banner sales will help finance the expansion of the old Glendora Firehouse, now a museum, to house antiques and Glendora artifacts. Banners can be purchased at the Glendora Chamber of Commerce, 224 N. Glendora Ave., or by contacting Kelly at (818) 914-8228.
