A Baptist minister in Port Angeles, Wash., convicted of killing his wife and trying to make it look like a bungled burglary, was sentenced to more than 23 years in prison. Clallam County Superior Court Judge Gary Velie denied a motion to release the Rev. Grady Young pending appeal, saying he might flee. He denied a motion for a new trial also. Young, 61, was convicted March 4 of first-degree murder in the slaying of Elva Mae Young, 55, who was shot in the head and back with a .22-caliber rifle last Aug. 9.
