A judge ordered three employees of the Dupont Plaza Hotel to stand trial for murder and arson in the New Year’s Eve fire at the San Juan, Puerto Rico, resort that killed 97 people and injured 140. San Juan District Judge Luis G. Saavedra ruled there was sufficient evidence to try the three defendants for murder, arson and conspiracy. He set a May 19 trial date in San Juan Superior Court.
