Pacific Palisades : Zone Panel Backs Homeowner
The Los Angeles Board of Zoning Appeals has ruled in favor of a Pacific Palisades homeowner whose remodeling project has drawn opposition from neighbors, who say the construction would block their mountain and ocean views.
According to Allan Cooper, attorney for homeowner Peter Olmstead, the board’s ruling means that there are no city administrative roadblocks remaining to prevent Olmstead from obtaining permits for the project.
Still standing in the way, however, is a lawsuit filed in December by the Adelaide Drive Residents Assn., according to Roger Jon Diamond, attorney for the association.
Diamond said negotiations are under way to resolve the dispute. If the talks fail, the residents association may ask the Board of Zoning Appeals to reconsider the case or seek a new stop order against the construction, he said.
