Westminster : Municipal Judge Maleck Will Be Sworn In Today
Municipal Judge Sidney Maleck will be formally sworn in today at 4 p.m. in Division 9 of West Orange County Municipal Court.
Judge Maleck, who was named to the Municipal Court bench by Gov. George Deukmejian last December, will take the oath of office from Judge Charles Wiggins of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
At the time of his appointment, Maleck was serving as city attorney of El Monte, a position he had held for 10 years. Before that, he maintained a private practice in Santa Ana, representing clients whose property had been taken away by public agencies. He has been a county resident for 20 years.
A reception at the Huntington Beach Library, 7111 Talbert Ave., is to follow the installation.
