Fox Television’s much-ballyhooed season got off to a less-than auspicious start Sunday night with an average 4.7 Nielsen rating and a 7 share for its three hours of new programming in 13 major markets. According to the research department at CBS, last week the Fox stations achieved a 3.5 rating and a 6 share airing no new shows. From 7 to 10 p.m., the new Fox network aired “Married . . . With Children” and “The Tracy Ullman Show” three times each. In Los Angeles, the first-hour broadcast of the two shows on KTTV Channel 11 netted a 6.5 rating; last week the same time period rated a 6.3.
