Share

John Flores, president of the county’s largest anti-poverty group, returned to work Monday, a week after putting himself on administrative leave during a contract dispute.

“My return was in the best interests of the low-income people in Orange County as well as my own,” said Flores, who went on leave as president of the Community Development Council of Orange County on March 30.

Flores, who was unhappy with negotiations over his contract, is seeking higher pay and benefits. His two-year contract, which guarantees him $47,700 a year, expires May 7.

Contract talks among Flores, his attorney and the council’s board are continuing, according to a spokesman for the development council.
