Warning labels of the cigarette type would be required on Medicare supplemental insurance policies, mailings and TV commercials in legislation introduced to alert senior citizens of deceptive come-ons. A bill by Sen. Pete Wilson (R-Calif.) calls for a label reading: “Warning. Most supplemental health care insurance policies pay only a small portion of costs not covered by Medicare. Contact the department of insurance in your state or your local area agency on aging for more information.”
