A 2-year-old Indio boy who had been the object of an intense police search was found unharmed in a locked theater closet by a television reporter doing a story on the case, authorities said. The toddler’s mother, Susan Jaimez of Coachella, told police that she had taken young Jaime Jaimez into the lobby of the Cine-Mex Theater to buy soft drinks for the rest of the family. She paid for the drinks and turned around to find that the child was gone. Police went through the theater and made a house-to-house search of the neighborhood, officers said. Patrice Hornsby, a reporter from KMIR-TV, was preparing to tape her story inside the theater when she heard crying coming from a closet. She told an officer, who found the closet door locked and had the theater manager open it.
