A Wisconsin teen-ager today became the youngest person in the world to receive a Jarvik 7 artificial heart, medical officials said.

Christopher Larson, 15, of Esdaile, Wis., about 40 miles southeast of Minneapolis, received a mini-Jarvik heart at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in a five-hour operation undertaken pending transplant of a human heart. He was listed in critical condition, usual after such surgery.
