Silicon Systems Inc. Triples Net Income

Citing the strong disk-drive market, Silicon Systems Inc. said net income for its fiscal 1987 second quarter ended March 28 more than tripled to $325,000 from $105,000 in the period a year ago. Sales increased 21% to $19.5 million from $16.1 million in the same period last year.

Its profit came to $627,000, compared to last year’s net loss of $2.3 million. Total sales for the first half of the year jumped by 34% to $36.8 million from $27.4 million last year. Silicon Systems Inc. of Tustin makes components for computers and telecommunications equipment.
