Earl J. Prescott will be sworn in Monday to fill a vacancy on the Tustin City Council, city officials said. The 33-year-old a real estate agent was elected Wednesday by a 3-1 council vote.

The lone dissenting vote was cast by Councilman Ron Hoesterey, who preferred Planning Commissioner Chuck Puckett for the post, officials said.

Prescott will serve the remaining 18 months of former Councilman Don Saltarelli’s term. Saltarelli resigned last month after 15 years on the council.
