In addition to improved revenue and traffic growth, Washington-based MCI Communications Corp. reduced its leased line costs as a percent of revenue to an all-time low of 5%, a spokesman said, which contributed to increases in profit and revenue for the quarter ended March 31. Net income for the March 1987 quarter includes a pretax gain of $12 million from previously negotiated antitrust settlements.
