Ford Recalls 405 Cars for Wheel Adjustments

Ford Motor Co. said Tuesday it is recalling 405 1987-model Ford Escort, Mercury Lynx and Ford Tempo vehicles to correct a possible problem that could cause the wheels to separate from the car.

But Ford stressed that there have been no reports of accidents or injuries caused by the problem and noted that all but 39 of the cars still are at dealerships. The unsold cars will be fixed before delivery to retail customers, Ford said.
