Chrysler and Renault extended talks on AMC.

The two firms extended their talks to May 5. The previous deadline for completion of an agreement was Thursday. Chrysler agreed in a letter of intent signed March 9 to buy Renault’s 46.1% interest in AMC and to purchase all other outstanding AMC shares. The deal still must be approved by the boards of all three auto makers, by the French, Canadian and U.S. governments and by AMC’s shareholders.
