Power Restored After Outage: Southern California Edison workers restored electrical power to about a two-square-mile area early Friday after a transformer failed, causing a 2 1/2-hour blackout, authorities said. The outage was centered near the Park Newport Apartments on Park Newport Avenue, a police spokesman said.
