Fountain Valley : Police Say Rape Attack May Be Linked to Others

Share

Police are investigating whether the attempted rape of a woman Monday night is connected to a series of attacks on women in the Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach area.

Sgt. Ron Manda said a 21-year-old woman awoke at 10:45 p.m. in her apartment bedroom to find a man holding a pillow over her face.

The woman, who lives near Warner Avenue and Brookhurst Street, broke free and called police, Manda said. The suspect fled through an open window in another room.

The attacker was described as blond, wearing a gray shirt and gray pants. He apparently entered the woman’s apartment through an unlocked window, he said.

Sgt. Larry Griswold said that while police do not know he was involved in the series of rapes, “it’s possibly the same suspect.”
